Paint Defects
Causes
- Faulty paint system on thermoplastic substrates
- (direct application of polyester putty or filler, wash primer, or synthetic resin products on TPA)
- Flash-off too short in wet-on-wet application
Prevention
- Respect the refinishing procedures for factory-applied TPA finishes
- Respect the recommended flash-off times between coats
How to repair
- Sand the paint film back to a sound substrate
- Repaint using suitable undercoat and finishing materials
