4. Automatic Mode
Automatic Mode offers two options Manual and Automatic.
When set to Manual you will be required to manually tap or press the measurement button or screen when adding a measurement to a new job.
Automatic mode allows the instrument to automatically take a measurement approximately one second after all pins are in contact with the surface being measured when adding a job.
5. Dark Mode
Dark Mode offers three options, Off, Manual and Automatic. This setting allows the instrument to better measure dark colors with spectral curves that are very close together by allowing longer shutter times when a dark color is detected. It is recommended Automatic mode be set to Automatic.
- OFF – does not allow instrument to detect a dark color and use the Dark Mode feature
- Manual – the instrument will ask user if they would like to proceed in dark mode if a dark substrate is detected
- Automatic– the instrument will alert user that dark mode is being used and continue all measurements using this mode.
6. Speaker Mode
This setting turns on and off the beep that alerts user, that each required measurement is finished. As well as a long beep, when all required measurements for a job are complete. When set to “ON” short beeps can also be heard when instrument goes into hibernation and when the device is awoken from hibernation.
7. Measurement Mode
There are three measurement mode options. It is recommended to set to Average of 3 for everyday use in a body shop as this will provide the easiest user experience although SMC mode can be used on a daily basis and for difficult colors and for adding colors to your custom library.
- Basic – only one measurement is needed to complete the job. Not recommended
- Average – three measurements are needed to complete the job. This is the recommended method
- SMC – at least 5 but no more than 12 measurements are needed to complete the job. This is the recommended method if scanning a difficult to match color.
