Causes

  • Color of undercoat substrate not matched to the topcoat colour
  • Basecoat or topcoat over-thinned
  • Paint not applied uniform
  • Film build of topcoat too low

Prevention

  • A uniform adapted substrate is required, especially when you apply translucent colors (e.g. 3-stage pearl effect finishes)
  • Mix paint according to technical data sheets
  • Use the recommended ground coats for poor-covering colours
  • Ensure sufficient film thickness and respect appropriate flash-off intervals between coats

How to repair

  • After drying, sand lightly and repaint
